Alfonso Ventoso

Board of Finance

You can’t complain about schools or services if you’re not willing to in-vest time to do something about it. I have lived in Willington for 7 years now, and brought our youngest daughter home from the hospital to what she calls our ― forever house on Rte 44. I’ve seen all the great work done at all three schools, on the infrastructure and services we have, but there is always more that can be done. Municipal governments tend to focus most of their energies on how to split the resources already in the pot (from state, town residential and business taxpayers, and other sources). Towns like ours need to think more like the private sector who are always pressured to do more with what is already there, while also thinking about ways to make the pot bigger.

Alfonso works for a small firm that advises business owners nationwide when they are ready to exit their business; and says “I am 1/3 psychologist, 1/3 financial analyst, 1/3 negotiator. Come to think of it, this qualifies me perfectly for BoF.” Why not give Alfonso a chance to prove that? He and his wife and children have been in town since 2002.
